Meru University of Science and Technology Students will storm Meru law courts on 26th July to agitate for Justice for their comrade who was killed in cold blood by a police officer.
According to Students Association of Meru University Chairman Mr Wangila Wabomba, he affirmed that all the comrades will be heading to Meru law court during the hearing of Evans Njoroge’s murder case.
The late Njoroge was the Students Association of Meru University Secretary-General and was shot dead during student’s demonstration.
The 23-year-old, an outspoken leader, was a fourth-year student pursuing a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.
He led a demonstration against the institution’s management that led to his death on February 27.
“I will be leading a fully branded peace procession which will commence from Meru university gate by 7 am towards Meru law courts with a powerful message of peace,” said Wabomba.
Speaking to News Men on Sunday, July 22, Wabomba said that the procession will help them get justice for their fallen colleague who was shot several times by an armed police officer who has since been arrested.
He urged other comrades and Kenyans of good will to join them in the procession since it will be as peaceful as the word peace itself.
“We have already secured a permit from the relevant security agencies and expect no disturbance from police officers during the procession,” he said.
Wabomba said that among the high profile individuals who will join them during the procession include Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Amnesty international leaders.
