Uniabuja gets New Students’ Affairs Dean

The students’ affairs department of the University of Abuja, Uniabuja received a new dean in the person of Professor ALANANA, OSANA OTAKI of the department of Sociological studies, faculty of Social Science, as the new head of students’ affairs.

Prof. Otaki was born on April 4 1960 at Giza, Nasarawa State Nigeria. He attended his element school at Keana and Giza and Secondary School in Doma. He holds B.sc Degree in Sociology from the University of Jos and a Master’s Degree in Rural Sociology and Agricultural Extension from the University of Maiduguri.

He holds two PhDs. in Political Economy/Development Studies, and Sociology of Development respectively from University of Abuja. He is a Professor of Sociology with a specialisation in Development Studies. He has many books and journal articles to his credit and has consulted for many organisations and governments in the areas of Development.

Currently, he is a member of the governing council of the University of Abuja and has served as a member of various council committees and other committees, Ad hoc and Standing in the University of Abuja.

He also doubles as the Current Director of Development Office, University of Abuja, where he is working assiduously with his team to attract development to the University.
