At the 2018 Creativity week which came up at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, organised by Chini Productions with the cooperation of Roger Hatchuel Academy of France, students of the University of Ibadan have bagged the trophy against other ten institutions.

The representatives are four final year students of the Department of Communication and Language Arts namely Damilola Makinde, Tomiwa Adeosun, and Aminat Oyelude and Ayomide Akinlosose who won as a result of the highest cumulative score at the event.
Ayomikun Akinlosose, one of the co-competitors from University of Ibadan won Silver Medal, and will be representing Nigeria at the Dubai Lynx Festival in 2019.

Messr Ayo Dada, a recent graduate of the department also won in the Young Lions’ Category and will also be travelling, with all expenses taken care of by the organisers, to France for the Cannes Lion Festival.

Being a double leveled competition, which is the school level and individual level, the institution won at the former level and came second at the latter level.

Ayomikun Akinlosose, commented that “it should not come as really as a surprise gave the thorough grooming that we receive from our advert lecturers in the Department”.

“UI would win even more prestigious awards with the improvement of our studio facilities and greater collaboration with the industry”, Dr Olayinka Egbokhare, a lecturer of Advertising on the Department and mentor of the representatives said.
