Ahead of the 2018/2019 TASUED Students’ Union Election, One of the three presidential aspirants opted out of the TASUED SU election amidst controversy.

His opting out of the race as the election is just less than 48hours and the manifesto presentation will hold in less than 24 hours. In a similar vein, the list of qualified and disqualified aspirants will be released tomorrow, Thursday, June 28th, 2018.

The OWL Campus media correspondent gathered that TASUEDITES are quite perplexed on the impromptu withdrawal of the incumbent TASUEDSU Welfare Director from the presidential race despite the much popularity amassed.

Categorically, many unanswered questions were raised, some includes “Is he afraid of history not to repeat itself? Because the last regime (Team Ubuntu) Welfare-director also contested for the presidential post last year and lost?” or “Is he trying to form an alliance with one of the presidential aspirant?” or “Has he forgotten his mission/vision for TASUEDITES especially his supporters?” “Or all his campaign since was a joke?”.

It was earlier reported that this same aspirant allegedly claimed that his presidential aspirant form was stolen from his office and he has been given another one. The question bugging on every TASUEDITES mindset is why he did decide to opt-out from the presidential race after he participated in the TASUEDSU aspirants Debate held yesterday (26/6/18) where he made a lot of promises.

Even as 2018/2019 TASUEDSU election draws nearer in the next couple of days, TASUEDITES in their large numbers are ready to cast their vote wisely this Friday, 29th of June 2018. TASUEDITES has been urged to vote diligently, avoiding violence and the ITEC should ensure a free and fair election.
