EDO STATE CAMP – The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brig. Gen Suleiman Zakari Kazaure who was ably represented by Director (Legal Unit) NYSC; Barr. Ahmed Tijani Ibrahim paid a courtesy visit to the Edo state NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Edò state last Sunday, April 29th, 2018. He charged the 2,163 Edo state Batch ‘A’ corps members undergoing orientation course at the camp.
It should be noted that facilities in the camp are in average provisions even as successive administrations in Edo state have complemented services in the camp through the provision of basic amenities for corps members.
The corps members were in an elated mood when they received the Director-General, who on entry into the camp inspected a guard of honour mounted by the corps members with a parade, band to thrill the visitor and other light entertainments.
Kazaure quickly inspected facilities in the camp such as the clinic, the conveniences, the hostels, kitchen among others, which he expressed satisfaction with their provisions.
Shortly after the corps members entertained the DG with a cultural dance, Kazaure enlightened corps members that the reason for the establishment of NYSC was all about national integration, he urged corps members to always obey rules and regulations of the country, various place of primary assignment and also the host communities.
He urged corps members to desist from insecurity risks which include travelling without permission, interacting with the criminals among other criminal activities. He further charged corps members posted to schools as teachers to ensure they teach well and correctly, adding that it will help the young ones through the inculcation of moral values and sound education.
