National association of Nigerian students have vehemently frowned against the actions of the CSO of President Muhammadu Buhari interference and assassination of democracy through imposition of candidate ahead of the NANS Elections.

The Chief Security Officer to President Muhammadu Buhari was alleged to be making some underground moves ahead of the forthcoming Convention of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)

An intelligent report contained that the CSO to the President was trying to impose a candidate on the association as the next President of NANS and as such making all underground moves to ensure the person gets elected.

Earlier on, the Convention Planning Committee of NANS and other Stakeholders met with the Special Adviser to the President on Youth and Student Affairs Comr. Nasir Sa’idu Adhama who promised that the Government will not interfere in the democratic process of NANS but it appears the CSO is defying the democratic protocol as regards pushing for a candidate who simultaneously parades himself as a “Government candidate”

Ahead of the NANS Unity Convention which is slated for 3rd to 6th of May 2018, it remains a known fact that NANS is a student body and not an extension of the federal Government.

While speaking to Owlcampus, A presidential aspirant, Com. Friday Omadewu registered his displeasure over the subtle actions of the President’s Chief security officer.

He said “we will reject all attempt by any individual no matter highly placed to assassinate democracy among us for their selfish political reason”. “We call on President Buhari to caution his CSO from interference in the NANS election” He added.

He furthermore charged Nigerian students to remain steadfast and resolute, He said “We also called on the entire Nigerian Students and the general public to remain resolute and ensure democracy in NANS but not allow the CSO to deliver a candidate that will represent their interest”.
