The Popular On-air-personality, Mrs Tolu Demuren also known as Toolz O who is also the Deputy Director of the programme, Beat FM Lagos made this assertion while speaking to youth entrepreneurs at this year’s annual Youth Enterprise Conference (YEC) organized by NairaBet.com CEO – Akin Alabi at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
While dishing out her inspirational and motivational nuggets of how she made it to the top using her life story, she charged budding entrepreneurs not to feel discouraged, she said “Whenever you feel discouraged, don’t get depressed take it as inspiration, anytime I see those who we grew up together doing better than me I get inspired to do more”.
“Nobody owes you anything, getting to the point of success depends on the person, information is key – whatever you want to be, you need to have enough knowledge to get you to that point. Don’t give up on your dreams, when you stop trying that’s when you fail, these are the general things I’ve learnt from my little age”.
“Nobody owes you anything!” Super OAP @ToolzO started on a home truth note as she went on to share the feeling of freedom that came with earning her own money from 15! #YECO4 pic.twitter.com/D1fwFc7A3H

While advising youngsters who usually clamour to be a radio presenter, She said “You need to have an engaging personality such that you learn how to talk to your listener.
The main reason I fell in love with radio presenters was because i felt they were in my living room talking to me. You do not need to have an accent to be a good radio presenter, having a good accent does not make you a good presenter. So many people think to be on the Nigerian radio, you need to fake your accent. You need to be authentic.
I listened to other radios all the time and learn new things hence the genuine interest in radio shows, You also need to be active on social media through connecting to your audience”.
“I’ve made some horrible mistakes on air, there was one time I made a mistake on air, when I was interviewing Olamide I said this is your first album and he said this is my third album, I had to apologize quickly”. She said.
