Lautech SUG – It’s been nothing short of topsy-turvy since the management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology announced the startling new tuition regime.
But after days of on-and-off protests and consultations with stakeholders, the management announced on Friday that they had reviewed the tuition fee — a decision which they described as “magnanimous.”
However, the student leaders are not satisfied with the revised fee.
In a press release on Sunday, the union declared a 12-hours students’ strike aimed at crippling activities on campus while they consult with stakeholders and “more experienced students’ leaders.”
The SUG says the meeting is to devise “a better approach in registering our displeasure to the school management and the government in order to charge them up on their responsibility.”
On a side note, they also advised that no student should pay the tuition fee pending further notification from the union.
