A Nigerian lady gained massive recognition on social media after she took to her mother’s fish stand to proudly celebrate her matriculation into the university. Parenthood for some people is filled with difficulties and challenges with some sacrificing a lot to ensure their children don’t lack basic needs.
Most times, the best any parent can hope for is their children turning out well. A young lady identified as Elsie Worgor displayed a bold and amazing show of love for her widowed mom after she took her matriculation celebration to the market at Mile One Market in Port-Harcourt, to celebrate with her mother who is a fish trader.
Elsie shared photos of herself with her mother and soon enough, became an online sensation as many people were moved by her show of gratitude to her mother who worked hard to put her through school.
Elsie said: “my Mum sells fish(different kinds), Mum doesn’t allow us(siblings and I) to visit her at the market neither has she ever told us to come to sell with her, She would always say I don’t want you, people, to see me suffering Under the rainy season, Sun and Harmattan season, Mum still sells fish. What can I really do to repay her love?? Silver nor Gold won’t be enough. I’m proud of My Mum who sells fish and has also determined to train her daughter to the higher institution.”
The trending photos soon caught the attention of an in the state who showed support for the 18-year-old. Identified as Soibi Ibibo Jack, the Rivers state Coordinator for Rivers youths for Governor Wike met with the young girl and asked her to refer to her (Hon. Soibi) as an elder sister. She also handed the girl a little token of support.
