Beverline, a 21-year-old third-year hospitality and tourism student at Kenyatta University was reportedly raped and stabbed to death by her boyfriends step-brother on Wednesday at 3 am in Migosi Estate. She was stabbed in the stomach and head which led to her death.

The 23-year-old suspect Joseph Ayomo who also stabbed his 32 years old stepbrother Evans Otieno has been arrested by the Police in Kisumu. Evans Otieno was stabbed in the back and chest and was rushed to Avenue Hospital for treatment.

Health officers at the facility say he is in a stable condition. Central OCPD, Joseph Kiptum, who confirmed the incident said they are yet to ascertain why the suspect killed his brother’s girlfriend considering the fact that Ayomo who is unemployed had stayed with his step-brother Otieno for three weeks before the incident happened.

The suspect after raping and killing his victim moved her body into a Toyota Noah car model, which belongs to Otieno. Police, who arrived at the scene, towed the vehicle to Central post, while the victim’s body was moved to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.

Berverline’s mother who thought her daughter was in school was shocked after hearing what had happened to her daughter.
