Following the landmark success of the GenVoices Telethon in January, 2014 and the wide reception of the initiative in Ogun State at the GenVoices National Campus Summit held on May 6th 2014. The Ogun State Chapter of GenVoices will again be holding its first GenTalks eventthis Saturday, the 1st of November 2014 at the JDPC Auditorium, GRA in Ijebu Ode.
Under the GenVoices Gateway State banner, youth and student populace from across the four (4) regions (Remo, Ijebu, Egba and Yewa) that made up Ogun State will be gathering to engage with policy makers and political leaders about Nigerian Youth and the 2015 General Elections and how best to ensure the overall safety and integrity of their vote in 2015 particularly in Ogun State.
GenTalks is the conversational space created by the Generational Voices Movement to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge thereby warehousing critical information that drive the core objective of the movement. These talks speak to the core objectives of GenVoices, which is to foster global and local dialogues to create benchmarks for the kind of leaders we desire, as well as harnessing the strengths and talents of our generation for national problem-solving.
The chosen theme for the discourse is “Nigeria’s 2015 Elections: Engaging Youth Voters In Ogun State”. GenVoices recognizes the need to begin to build articulate, brilliant and energetic young Nigerians to embrace radical change and innovation in preparation for the 2015 general elections” says Ishola Adebayo, Ogun State Chapter Coordinator. It is no doubt that Nigeria is rising and Ogun State is central to its rise. The output from the various sessions at the GenTalks will create better informed citizens and provide practical input for the continuous refinement of our generational charter.
GenVoices Ogun will be hosting Senator Adegbenga Kaka, Hon. Abiodun Abudu-Balogun, Mr. Sina Kawonise, Dr. Lawrence Holumidey, Dr. Daniel Akinlami as well as Dr. Abiodun Oduwole and more among Lead Speakers at the GenVoices Ogun State Chapter first GenTalks event.
Youth are implored to spread the word to their networks, follow the conversation on and offline. If you live in Abeokuta, Ilaro, Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode, or have friends who do, you should plan to attend this event.

Generational Voices or GenVoices, is a growing global movement of Nigerians aged 18 to 40 but inclusive of a dynamic group of older mentors and contributors. We were conceived as a means to convert online and offline efforts into practical national change.
We recognise that social media chatter alone will not deliver sustainable solutions to Nigeria’s problems. Without constructive participation in governance and policy, our generation will continue to be denied the opportunities to make widespread impact.
