Federal University of Technology Akure emerged the winner of The 3rd annual Professor Peter Adebola Okuneye InterVarsity Debate (PAID) 2016, which is usually organized by the department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management (AEFM), Federal University Of Agriculture, Abeokuta which was held at Mahmood Hall today alongside with 3 other Universities; Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye and University of Ibadan.
The theme for this year’s debate was “Transcription in government: What Hope for Nigeria”. Funaab’s and UI topic’s was: “Transition in government (a curse to Nigeria agriculture)”. While that of FUTA and OOU was “Transition in government” (a blessing to Nigeria agriculture).
The two speakers for Funaab were:
1st speaker: Salami Aishat 300 level Aefm.
2nd Speaker: Mohammed Rasheed, 500 level, Aefm.
1st speaker: Adesokan Eniola, 500l, Agricultural Resources Economics
2nd Speaker: Posi Adedayo, 300L, Agricultural Resources Economics.
1st Speaker: Fadele Ifeoluwa, 500l, Agric Economics
2nd Speaker: Bondure Adam, 500L, Agric Economics.
1st Speaker: Oyeneye Olutoyin, 500L, Agric Economics.
2nd Speaker: Owolabi Taiwo, 400L, Agric Economics.
After the whole rounds of the debate Futa came first with a total of 75.17 points, Funaab 2nd with a total of 74.67 points, UI 3rd with a total of 70.33 points, while OOU came forth with a total of 65.17 points.
