With the continuous heated arguments over the unpleasant activities of the special anti-robbery squad known as SARS, The Tai Solarin University of Education Best Rap Artist Oluwadami Jonah popularly known as “Dhamxzy Father Figure” has joined the campaign against the Special Anti-robbery squad with a one minute video he shared on his social media page.
This video depicted in details the travails of how Nigerian youths are victims of undue and harsh harassment and assaults by the SARS operatives. According to him, SARS operatives were fond of harassing youths with exotic cars, phones on highways.
There have been a campaign on social media seeking that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) should end, this happened after some of the operatives allegedly shot a young man dead in the Yaba area of the state. The criticism followed a viral video which showed an angry mob chasing a black bus used by the operatives.
Using the hashtag #EndSARS, some Nigerians have been calling on the federal government to scrap the police unit. A petition on scrapping SARS has already been addressed to the national assembly and it has continued to gain widespread popularity. As published by ‘Segun Awosanya, the petition has been signed by 10,195 people at the time of this report.
