The Students’ Representatives Council (SRC) of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo held its second parliamentary sitting in a very dramatic form.

The Speaker,(RT.) Hon. Olatunde Thompson presided over the second parliamentary  sitting. The main business of the parliament was to make the budget proposal of the Central Executives Council (CEC) to pass the first reading before setting up Ad-hoc committee on budget for scrutiny but the motions upon motions being raced by the Honourables to freeze the Union Account and to suspend the payment of Union Due by the students gave the budget bill a serious injury.

This was as a result of a correspondence forwarded from the office of the President, Com. Ogunrotifa Richard seeking for the approval of the parliament on the amount of money to be paid as Annual Due and the bank of the Union. The motion of suspension moved by Hon. Adedeji Olawumi and Seconded by Hon. Odemakinde made the bill to be swept under carpet.

As the parliament was trying to maintain decorum and respect the supremacy of Mace at the floor of the house, this made the house to suspend the President and Hon. Azeez Adewumi for some minutes for their conducts at the sitting.

In another development, some members of the CEC were also hit by the house axe as they were told to write ” I will never disrespect the constituted authority ” of certain pages.

The parliament in the full of darkness of
financial status of the union had made it to
request for the Statements of Account of the
union and the take-off grant and its
spending analysis.
The Honourables were of the conclusion
that the budget proposal should only be
treated after the financial clarifications have
been made.

Only one agenda was fully realised by the
parliament. The agenda was the
constitution of Constitution Review

The name of the CRC included:
Hon. Ayeomoni Paul,
Hon. Falohun Sunday,
Hon. Sunday Blessing,
Hon. Kareem Mustapha and Hon.
The parliament was on a four-day recess.
