Prof. Otete C. Okobia, the Vice Chancellor of Western Delta University, Oghara, has urged students across the country and Western Delta University, in particular, not to be intimidated by lecturers who threaten them.
She also stated that that the institution would sanction such a lecturer if found culpable.
Mrs Okobia said this at the weekend at the 11th matriculation ceremony of the institution, adding that the institution is known for its high standard, adding that its students could compete favourably with their counterparts across the globe.
The vice chancellor enjoined the newly admitted students to take their studies seriously, saying that the institution has no room for lazy students.
She cautioned the matriculating students against engaging in acts that could jeopardize their stay in the institution.
“Remember that life in the university is not easy. It is a life of hard work and adventure into unknown areas of life. Do not lose the opportunity to attend lectures, do your assignments for an opportunity lost can hardly be regained.
“You will have challenges and obstacles but resilience, hard work and with God, you shall achieve the reason while you are in this institutions,” she added.
