Davido, 2Baba, Iyanya, Timaya & others won African Muzik Magazine Awards

The first edition of the African Muzik Magazine Awards, Afrimma, held on July 26, 2014, at Eisemann Centre in Richardson, Texas, and it was a big win for Nigerian artistes, in addition to a special Transformational Leadership award for governor of Akwa Ibon state, Godswill Akpabio.

If there was any doubt that BET Best African Act, Davido, is the rave of the moment, it must have been squashed by now, as the young man bagged yet another Artiste of the Year award — plus the Best Male (West Africa) award.

King of High-life music, Flavour, also collected two awards, Best Video of the Year and Best Traditional Artiste.

African King of pop, 2face Idibia, who now prefers to be called just 2baba, was honoured with the Leadership in Music Award, while living African legend, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, was honoured with the Legendary Award.

Other Nigerian artistes who won awards at the show are Tiwa Savage, P-Square, Iyanya, Imagineto (Kaffy’s dance group), Kcee, Timaya.
