1.Sterling Bank Young Talents Internship

Requirements:
The undergraduate program is suited for students in their penultimate year of study, who are interested in a Work Placement as part of their degree and graduates who are awaiting National Youth Service placement.
Applicants must not be older than 25 years at the time of application, with a minimum CGPA of 3.5/5 0r 5.0/7.0.
The internship is not open to Corps members and applicants who have completed their NYSC.

2. Sterling Bank Women in Banking Internship

Requirements:
Undergraduate/graduate student of a recognized university with a minimum CGPA (cumulative grade point average) of 3.5/5 0r 5.0/7.0. Previous experience in women advocacy and/or leadership will be an advantage.

Applicants must not be older than 25 years at time of application.
The internship is not open to Corps members and applicants who have completed their NYSC.

3. Sterling Bank Summer Associate Program

Requirements:
This program is open to students currently working towards an advanced degree such as an MBA, M.Sc. or LLM. While their discipline or major are not important, we do expect a level of knowledge of the industry and the products and services we offer.
Applicants must be between 18 – 28 years of age.
Internship is not open to Corps members.

4. Sterling Bank Tech Talent

Requirements:
Undergraduates with keen interest for Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Security and Computer Engineering. Basic programming knowledge, aptitude, and simple coding related to data structures are added advantage. If you are passionate, persistent, and eager to learn about Tech, this is right for you!

Apply for GTBank 1 Million Social Impact Challenge

GTBank – Following more than two decades of consistent investment in community development, Guaranty Trust Bank plc is taking its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) another step further by launching a Social Impact Challenge that will fund dozens of innovative ideas designed and executed by members of the general public.

Tagged #SimpleChangeBigImpact, the Social Impact Challenge invites individuals and groups to pitch ideas with the potential to enrich the lives of those in their community and receive funding from the Bank to execute the change.

This is the latest in a long line of CSR initiatives by GTBank, designed to foster socio-economic development across the country. The Bank’s Adopt-a-School initiative and Football Education Programmes have helped thousands of young students excel in and outside the classroom, while its Autism advocacy has remarkably raised the social consciousness and societal support for people living with Autism and other developmental disabilities.

Now, with the Social Impact Challenge, the Bank hopes to invest directly in the social infrastructure of at least 20 communities nationwide.

To participate in the Social Impact Challenge, the interested person(s) are to pitch their idea in a one-minute video which they will share using the hashtag #SimpleIdeasBigImpact. The video pitch should contain the potential of the idea, how it will be executed and the budget required to get it done.

The ideas must be executable within 120 hours and will be chosen by a combination of public endorsements on social media and expert assessments by the Bank. The expert assessment will focus on the creativity, relevance, unique impact of the idea as well as the feasibility of executing the idea within the stipulated timeframe.


Commenting on the Bank’s Social Impact Challenge, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of GTBank, Mr Segun Agbaje, said; “We are excited to organize an initiative that will showcase not just the ingenuity and creativity of Nigerians, but also their passion for making a positive social impact in their communities.

This Social Impact Challenge reflects the premium we put on innovation and collaboration and demonstrates our commitment to giving back to society.

He further stated that “As we continue to transform our institution into a platform for enriching lives, we are fully integrating Corporate Social Responsibility into our business model such that our CSR initiatives now form a core part of the normal way we go about our business. NIGERIAN STUDENTS ARTS FESTIVAL PRIZE FOR POETRY

Association of Faculty of Arts Students, University of Ibadan, Presents Nigerian Students Arts Festival (NISAF) Prize for Poetry, an initiative presented in anticipation of the forthcoming Arts festival. It is geared towards spicing up the event and also uncovering potentials, honing abilities, proclaiming the art of creativity and consequently hoisting the flag of excellence among students in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions.

In proposition of encouraging creative minds, an anthology of the top 50 poems (of entries received) will be published while the 1st, 2nd and 3rd poems will be awarded as follows;

1st Prize – ₦10,000

2nd Prize – ₦7,000

3rd Prize – ₦5,000

 

Submission Guidelines:

  • Undergraduates only of Nigerian institutions are eligible to enter.
  • Participants have the liberty to explore any theme as regards their entry of limitless word count.
  • All entries must be original, intellectual property of the entrants.

Village to Raise a Child Challenge 2016 (Funded to attend Igniting Innovation Summit in Harvard)

Village to Raise a Child is a program established by the Harvard Social Innovation Collaborative (SIC) that identifies and nurtures five young entrepreneurs from around the world. These five students—called “Global Trailblazers”—are invited to come to Harvard to attend and present their ideas at the annual Igniting Innovation Summit, giving them the tools, skills and resources they need to execute their community-based projects.

Eligibility:

The Village to Raise a Child program is open to any student or group of students (from any country) who is currently enrolled in a high school or its equivalent.
– Applicants must have an innovative idea or recently initiated project that attempts to solve a community-wide problem.
– Ongoing projects must be less than two years old. Applicants do not need to speak English fluently, but familiarity with the language is preferred.

Google Online Marketing Challenge 2015

The Google Online Marketing Challenge is a unique opportunity for students to experience and create online marketing campaigns using Google AdWords and Google+. With a $250 AdWords advertising budget provided by Google, students develop and run an online advertising campaign for a business or non-profit organization over a three week period. The teams that develop and communicate the most successful campaigns win awesome prizes, including trips to Google offices. It is a competition open to student teams of three to six members from undergraduate or graduate programs, regardless of their major.

Interestingly, Nigerian Universities have been participating in this competition which shows that the technology rave hitting Nigeria is been channelled into positive energy. The Google Online Marketing Lab (OML) held for the first time in Nigeria in 2013 were students who performed well in the previous year’s GOMC were invited for the 3-day workshop and taught about Digital Marketing after which they were sent to their various universities to evangelize, teach, and prepare other students for the Google Online Marketing Challenge.

I have seen the interest of students in various campuses grow tremendously which saddens my heart that down here that some Campus where this competition can be used as a massive tool for students involved in marketing and business related courses to have a hands-on experience and added knowledge of how digital marketing is shaping the future of marketing in the world today, we have refused to leverage the growing community (Co-creation Hub, Idea Hub, etc.) of start-ups to our advantage.

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Nigeria even though are not located in a region surrounded by great start-ups like the University of Lagos have however shown that local businesses in Nigeria would thrive and benefit from digital marketing. Last year they were Regional winners for the “AdWords Business – Middle East & Africa Region” where a team worked with Automedics Limited, an automobile maintenance workshop offering free advisory car care tips. This year, they also emerged the Regional Winners for the “Google+ Social Media Marketing Awards – Middle East & Africa Region” having a team that worked with an online radio platform  Jandus Radio, a company with a mobile application that allows you to listen to Nigerian radio and other African radio stations on your mobile phone anywhere in the world.

This opportunity would cost us nothing rather it would add to our skillset and  give us a hands-on experience on how small and medium business reach the customers that they need. It is obvious that Nigeria Campus Youth are industrious students and some of us are involved in one or two businesses. It is time to use digital marketing to let the world know you exist!
