Francis Gift Samuel, popularly known as FG-GENERAL released a track titled ” ” on the 14th of February 2020 (Valentine Day).

This melodious song is about the Remembrance of TASUED-HERO known as Fashina Olatunji David (HUMBLE-TJ).

OAU UNDERSTUDIES TASUED ON VOCATIONAL STUDIES

Founding fathers of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun have been commended for their foresight in introducing Vocational and Entrepreneurial Studies into the curriculum of the Institution.

The Director, Institute for Entrepreneurship and Development Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Dr.Isaac Abereijo, made this comment during his visit to Prof. Oluyemisi Obilade Centre for Vocational and Entrepreneurial Studies of the University recently describing the development as a nobel idea that will not only make the graduates self-employed but also provides employment opportunities for teeming young Nigerians.

Dr. Abereijo stated that “with the vocational skills acquired by undergraduates, they can be gainfully employed instead of roaming the streets looking for the elusive white collar job and this, to me, will create wealth for the nation”, he added.

He further noted that despite the fact that OAU is aware that TASUED is a haven of vocational skills, yet it was important for the team to embark on the on-the-spot assessment to the Centre and with the visit, they had been convinced about TASUED’s ranking as the first University in Nigeria to introduce vocational and entrepreneurship skills into its curriculum.

The Deputy Director of the OAU Institute, Dr. Charles Temitope Jegede, also aligned with his colleague by noting that with what the team had seen, they will go back to their University to replicate the TASUED model and with an appeal to the University Management to give them the necessary support they needed.

In his response the Director, Prof. Oluyemisi Obilade Centre for Vocational and Entrepreneurial Study, (CENVOS), Prof. Abiodun Banjo thanked the team for coming to the source of Vocational skills in the country and further advised the team to make the course compulsory if they actually want the students to be well equipped.

BE WARY OF SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCE, TASUED VC WARNS STUDENTS

Students have been warned to be careful of the ills associated with the social media as it is a double-edged sword that can derailed them.

The admonition was given by the Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu at the 2019 Valedictory Programme of the Anglican Girls’ Grammar School,(Junior), Ijebu Ode.

Prof. Arigbabu, who was the Special Guest of honour at the ceremony, enjoined the final year students of the school to see education as the bedrock of a better future by not to resting on their oars but to see the sky as their starting point.

He urged them to put in their maximum efforts so as to justify the sacrifices incurred by their teachers.

In his address, the Vice Principal (Administration), Mr. Alaga Kamorudeen thanked Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu for donating towards the renovation of the school’ Multipurpose Science Laboratory complex, saying that other well meaning Nigerians should emulate this philanthropy gesture, noting that government could not fund education alone but with the support of all stakeholders.

An award was later presented to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Arigbabu for his unalloyed contributions to the growth of education in the country.

TASUED SU holds “Transport Day”

As part of the activities to mark this year’s Transport Day in Tai Solarin University of Education, the Transport Unit of The Students’ Union led by Sen. Abiodun Matthew Oladipupo aka (Big Show) organuized”A Day of #50 with the shuttle Drivers”.

According to a release from the Outgoing TASUEDSU Director of Transport, He said students will board shuttle from Ijebu Ode to Ijagun and from Ijagun to Ijebu Ode for #50 from 7am to 2pm on Wednesday, 19th June, 2019.

According to him, He said this was done in fulfillment of the promise he made while contesting.

E-Campus Television team kick-start tour across tertiary institutions in Nigeria

The E-Campus team kick-started off its tour across tertiary institutions in Nigeria starting with the Tai-Solarin University of Education, Ijebu Ode.

The Coordinator and the Convener of Standout, Mr. Emmanuel Alloysius, said the move was part of the corporate social responsibility initiative of the organization.

The tour was launched on the platform of the “STANDOUT” conference with the facilitators giving head-start motivation to attendees.

While addressing the participants, one of the speakers, Olamide Akintolu, emphasized on how one can start small as an upcoming entrepreneur and encouraged young women who are under pressure of getting married to seek a partner who approves of their ambition to be outstanding.

Another speaker, Matilda Titilope, admonished students to source funds for their dreams by engaging in entrepreneurial ventures, and be bold enough to start small. She further spoke about awareness on passion and it’s efficacy in realizing Vision.

Keynote speaker, Ife Onaduja urged youths at the conference to own the process of their outcomes, then their successes will not be novel as they grow through life’s stages.

Another speaker, Freida Peters emphasized on the need for the students to wake up from their bed — stop dreaming and start pursuing our purpose in Life. She further stressed on the fact that young people should stop entitlement and dependency mentality.

Marvelous Miracle in a stimulating remark emphasized that health is very important hence they must take keen details on their health status.

At the end of the event, the participants were wowed with the lots of excitement attached to the event and further requested that the E-campus team make the program regular in their school.

TASUED SU President appoints Chief Judge of the Union Judicial Arm

The Student Union President, Tai Solarin University of Education Senator Olamide Adeboun has appointed Akinlolu Moses as the Chief Judge of the Student Union Judicial Arm.

The appointment of the chief judge follows after the Students’ House of Senate intense scrutinization, ratification and approval of the list submitted by the President of the members of the judicial arm at the plenary special session held on Thursday 21st February, 2019.

Sen. Adeboun further reiterate the sanctity of the Students’ Judicial Arm as a very important arm in the running of the Students’ Union. The existence of the arm shall serve as a watchdog and for checks and balances of the activities of the Central Executive Council and the Students’ House of Senate.

While the executive shall continue to pledge its complete obedience and respect to the provisions of the Students’ Union Constitution (2007 as amended) – we urge that the Judicial Council be prudent and impartial in her interpretations of our constitution and passage of judgements.

The President importantly ask the Chief Justice to uphold the essential beauties of the Judicial Arm as rightly stipulated in the constitution.

Additionally, the Chief Justice should be assured of absolute cooperation, support and frequent communication(as necessary) from the executive arm of our Union and I trust that the Students’ House of Senate will do in similar regards.

In conclusion , the President of the Students’ Union congratulate the Chief Justice on this appointment, wishes him all the best and nice stay in the office. Hearty congratulations!

TASUED HOLDS 2018/2019 MATRICULATION CEREMONY

Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State has been described as a citadel of knowledge that posseses vocational skills and entrepreneurial capabilities which makes the University stands out among its peers.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu made this statement recently at the 2018/2019 academic session matriculation ceremony of the University.

Prof. Arigbabu decribed the University as a beacon of success and a resource centre for other Universities in Nigeria. He further added that, “in few month’s time, TASUED will be the first in the nation that will have smart classroom equipped with modern technology in any Nigerian University”

… As Alumni association offers scholarship to outstanding undergraduate

The Vice Chancellor, however, admonished the new students not to misuse their new found freedom as this may jeopardise their academic voyage. He further advised them to make judicious use of the e-library as the facility can boast of current and relevant textbooks in the world.

He, however, warned the new students to shun all forms of anti-social behaviours that can derail their studentship in the University.

“Mind you, TASUED is an institution where peaceful co-existence, serene environment and security are taken seriously, with an assurance that the University adheres strictly to the academic calendar”, he added.

Other highlights of the event was the award of scholarship to Oluwasegun Akindele Gabriel by the TASUED Alumni Association, who was the outstanding
overall 100 level student in the 2017/18 academic session with a CGPA of 4.95.

The matriculation oath was later administered by the Ag. Registrar of the University, Mr. Tunde Oduwole.

Queen Temitope, Miss FECODEIN Pays Visit to The OWL Campus Media Office

Queen Temitope Fakorede, 100 level student, Department of English Language, Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), recently emerge the winner of 2018 edition of the Miss FECODEIN beauty pageant pay Royalty Courtesy visit to The OWL Campus Media office in Tasued Campus for a media support for her office.

The Ogun State born beauty queen emerge the new Iganmode Queen of Songo otta Land at this year Awori Cultural Carnival after a battle against 15 other contestants.

Temitope, the new beauty Queen during the visit disclosed her plan on what she intended doing during her reign as the Sango Otta beauty queen in the next 12 months.

She confess how tough the journey was, contesting for one crown with 15 persons. I am thrilled that I emerged the winner.

“She thank God for his grace and the organiser for giving me the opportunity to participate in this contest as it stand as the event gave queen Temitope her first crown.

“I will use my office to preach peace and tolerance among Nigerians and will also be involved in leadership mentoring for girl Child, as future leaders.

“I will work as an ambassador of peace and positive change agent in the life of young people,” she said.

Temitope noted that combining the responsibilities of her new office with the demands of studies as a fresh student in the university would be tasking.

The cultural event was rested about a decade ago as the Olota in Council and other stakeholders of Aworiland deemed it fit to rejuvenate a practice that had in the past, helped to strengthen the bond of unity and peace among them as well as a vehicle for mobilising the indigenes for communal developments.

Thos year edition was graced by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who is one of the special guests of Honour.


The Olota of Otta, Oba (Professor) AbdulKabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, said the Iganmode Day celebration was used to mark the cultural heritage of the Awori people; ‘bring back the spirit of their ancestors’ and foster greater unity in Aworiland.

Obalanlege added that it is also going to be an annual celebration henceforth.

“The Ignamode day celebration ought to be a yearly event and it is going to be a yearly event from now on,” Oba Obalanlege said.

That was the statement made by Professor Arigbabu Abayomi, Vice-chancellor of the Tai Solarin University of Education after he watched the marvellous performance of stage play titled “Kurunmi” which was being orchestrated by creative Art department to commemorate the ongoing convocation.

Professor Arigbabu Abayomi continues his good remark of the performance stating that ”in every convocation, a play has always been stage and she pledged the continuation of such play by years to come.

Tasued Joins Hult Prize, set to hold Competition December 2018

The Premiere univtersity of Education in Nigeria, Tai Solarin University of education (TASUED) has joined the race for this year Hult Prize, the Tasued edition will hold on the 15th of December,2018.

Students are hereby urged to continue the mental work and develop their ideas and get set for presentation.

The Hult Prize was established in 2010 by Ahmad Ashkar and Bertil Hult, and is an annual, year-long competition that crowd-sources ideas from students after challenging them to solve a pressing social issue around topics such as food security, water access, energy etc.

The Hult prize is the world’s biggest engine for launch of for good, for profit, start ups emerging from university with over 2500 staff and volunteers around the world.

In nearly a decade the movement has deployed more than 50m of capital into the sector and mobilized more than one million young people to rethink the future of business as it continues to breed disruptive innovation on college and university campuses across 100+ countries.

The hult prize brings the brightest students together to focus their passion, energy, and talent on solving a single problem. More than that, throughout the year long competition process, the hult prize offers support, resources and training to bring these ideas from paper to reality to impact.

In the annual cycle of the Hult prize we have the on campus program which will come up between September – December this year. This is the stage where every campus director is expected to organize a local version of the Hult prize competition.

The regionals is expected to come up by the first quarter of 2019 at this stage the winner of the hult prize on campus program from different universities across the word will complete.

The winning team from each regional will go to the UK, and will be housed for 8 weeks.
