Speaking on the development, the TASUED branch chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities, Dr. Akinsola Akinsanya, expressed shock that the DVC could be abducted in such a manner.

He decried the rampant cases of abduction and kidnapping, stressing that this had shown the level of insecurity in the country. He called on concerned authorities to urgently address the trend. Akinsanya said, “We in ASUU called for unconditional release of Prof. Olusanya

The state police spokesman, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the abduction of Olusanya, but said crack detectives and the directorate of the State Security Service were jointly working to secure his release.

He said, “It is true that Prof. Olusanya was abducted. Policemen accosted his driver who was stranded around the Multiple Bridge in Ososa area. “He told the policemen that his boss was abducted by four gunmen.
