​University of Ilorin wins the 4th Edition of All-Nigeria Universities Debating Championship (ANUDC), hosted by Covenant University from 9th-16th July, 2016. 

This event is the 4th edition of the All Nigeria Universities Debating Championship in a roll since the first edition in 2013 hosted by the University of Calabar in 2013, while the second was held at the University of Lagos in 2014 and the third edition by IMO State University in 2015. Worthy of mention is the fact that the host institutions of the Championship for the aforementioned editions won the tournaments. 

UNILORIN VC CELEBRATES CHAMPIONS OF THE 4TH ALL-NIGERIA DEBATING CHAMPIONSHIP.

It was a different ball game entirely this time around as Unilorin breaking the jinx of the home advantage factor by emerging as the winner of this year’s championship while UNICAL emerged as the 1st Runner-up, FUNAAB 2nd Runner-up  and UNIIBADAN 3rd runners up. 

This year’s edition of the Championship witnessed the highest number of  participating institutions of about twenty (20) Universities across the nation. The names of the Universities that participated in the just concluded Championship are hereby listed in no particular order:

UNILORIN VC CELEBRATES CHAMPIONS OF THE 4TH ALL-NIGERIA DEBATING CHAMPIONSHIP.

In this year tournament, multiple trophies was won, ranging from: Best Judge (Public Speaking Category); Top Three Public Speakers; Top Three + Adjudicators (Debate Category); Top Four Teams(Debate); Overall Best Team; and Overall Best Debater.

The Student from the host University (Covenant Universities) won the public speaking category of the Championship while IMO State University and UNILAG were the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively. 

Early hour of June 20,  the Vice-chancellor of Unilorin, Prof. A. G.  Ambali,  celebrates students of the institution who were the champion of the just concluded 4th All-Nigeria debating Championship held at the Covenant University. 

In his remarks, he said that he’s more than happy and the entire management team is proud of them for making the University proud.  I emphasized that the University will compensate them with a token and also continue her support towards extra curricular activities on campus.
